Rain showers will move in from west to east Wednesday morning, spreading eastward into Vermont by midday. After the initial wave of rain showers, some scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, especially over southern counties including southern Saint Lawrence County, the Adirondacks, and central and southern Vermont. These thunderstorms may produce some wind gusts of variable directions up to around 30 mph. Thunderstorms are not expected to be widespread. Total rainfall totals for Wednesday will range from a quarter to a half inch. Outside of thunderstorms, winds will be light and variable tonight, becoming south/southeast with gusts up to 20 mph Wednesday, and finally switch to become light northwesterly by Wednesday evening.
