This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...south
central...southwest and west central Kansas.

Day 1 Discussion

Strong winds out of the west to west northwest will
occur behind the first storm system today. Expect winds
of 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph, particularly
in the Hays to Larned areas.

* Non-thunderstorm wind: Elevated risk
* Fire weather: Limited risk

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Days 2-7 Discussion

A major severe weather event is forecast Thursday evening.
All severe weather types are expected, including significant
events of baseball size hail, destructive straight line
winds, and tornadoes. One or two strong, very destructive
tornadoes cannot be ruled out southeast of a Meade to Dodge
City to Larned line Thursday evening.
