CLOUDY SKIES COVERED WESTERN KANSAS OVERNIGHT WITH A SINGLE STORM
IN SCOTT COUNTY, WHILE HEAVY RAIN OCCURRED IN PRATT COUNTY AND
NORTHEASTERN BARBER COUNTY. RAINFALL ACCUMULATED TO OVER 2 INCHES
WEST OF PRATT. LOW TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT DROPPED INTO THE UPPER
60S AND LOWER 70S ACROSS THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE STATE.

UPPER LEVEL RIDGING WILL PERSIST OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS THROUGH
THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS WHILE A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE
CONTINUES TO BUILD IN EASTERN COLORADO. QUIET WEATHER IS EXPECTED
ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS THROUGHOUT THE EVENING WITH CLEAR SKIES AND
CLIMBING TEMPERATURES. HEAT INDICES WILL REACH ABOVE 100 DEGREES
IN MOST PLACES THIS AFTERNOON AS THE TEMPERATURES CLIMB AND THE
AIR REMAINS HUMID.

HIGHS TODAY WILL REACH UP INTO THE UPPER 90S ACROSS WESTERN AND
CENTRAL KANSAS WITH SOME AREAS CLIMBING INTO THE TRIPLE DIGITS IN
THE EXTREME SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. LOWS TONIGHT WILL
SLIP DOWN INTO THE MID TO UPPER 60S ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS AND
EASTERN COLORADO.
