CLEAR SKIES PREVAILED ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS THIS EVENING AS A SHIELD
OF HIGH CIRRUS CLOUDS COVERED MUCH OF WEST TEXAS THROUGH OKLAHOMA
AND THE SOUTHEASTERN QUARTER OF KANSAS. LIGHT WINDS WERE FOUND LATE
THIS EVENING WITH SOUTH WINDS AVERAGING 6 TO 10 MPH. TEMPERATURES
WERE MAINLY IN THE LOWER TO MID 50S.

A WEAK SURFACE HIGH WAS LOCATED OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS, AND THIS
SURFACE FEATURE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE WESTERN KANSAS
REGION. A LEESIDE TROUGH WILL DEVELOP SATURDAY ACROSS THE NORTHERN
AND CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS AS A WESTERLY PACIFIC JET APPROACHES THE
NORTHERN ROCKIES.

TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL FALL TO LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S ACROSS FAR
NORTHWESTERN AND WEST CENTRAL KANSAS...TO THE LOWER 40S ACROSS FAR
SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS. SATURDAY WILL BE WARM WITH INCREASING SOUTH
WINDS AND AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT IN THE MID TO UPPER 70S
ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF THE STATE.
