REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS
923 PM CDT THU JUL 17 2014

Today was a carbon copy of yesterday as far as temperatures and
cloud cover is concerned. Another day of record low maximum
temperatures were set at both Dodge City and Garden City. High
temperatures at both airports only reached 62 degrees breaking the
old low maximum temperature of 72 set back in 1967. Otherwise,
sporadic light rain showers continued to tapper off through the
early evening hours.

An upper level disturbance which migrated across the Central Plains
this afternoon will continue to move east towards the Mississippi
Valley tonight. Surface troughing will redevelop along the lee side
of the Rockies by early Friday morning. Mostly cloudy skies are
expected tonight with areas of fog expected through early Friday
morning. Mostly sunny skies and much warmer temperatures are
expected for the end of the workweek.

Lows tonight will be in the mid 50s across eastern Colorado and
western Kansas with a few lower 60s possible in central Oklahoma.
Highs on Friday will range from the mid 80s in eastern Colorado to
the lower 70s in central Oklahoma.
