Thunderstorms developed across northeastern Colorado and Nebraska
this afternoon and quickly reached severe limits. Further south,
more thunderstorms developed over the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.
Highs today ranged from the upper 80s in northwestern Kansas to the
upper 90s in extreme southwestern Kansas.
Northwesterly flow aloft will remain evident across Northern and
Central Plains tonight while a ridge of high pressure over the Great
Basin expands further east. Meanwhile, a warm front will move east
tonight across western Kansas. Thunderstorms will be ongoing across
most of Nebraska and northern Kansas tonight. A few thunderstorms
will also be possible across the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles.
Mostly sunny skies and much hotter conditions will return through
the end of the week.
Lows tonight will range from the lower 60s in northeastern Colorado
to the lower 70s in central Oklahoma. Highs on Thursday will range
from the upper 90s in western Kansas to the mid 80s in central
