High clouds kept skies partly to mostly cloudy across western
Kansas today, with gusty southwest winds helping to bring warmer
temperatures to the region. By late this afternoon, thunderstorms
began developing in portions of southwest Kansas, with a few of
these storms producing wind gusts in excess of 60 mph in Gray
county. Highs today ranged from the upper 70s to low 80s in
eastern Kansas, to around 100 degrees in portions of north central
and northwest Kansas. In southwest Kansas highs were in the mid to
upper 90s.

An upper level low pressure trough over Nebraska and Kansas will
gradually move off to the east overnight, while the surface cold
front in western Kansas slowly moves into central Kansas by
tomorrow morning. The thunderstorms associated with the front and
upper level trough will gradually diminish overnight across
western Kansas, but continue through central and eastern Kansas
through mid day tomorrow.

Lows tonight will drop into the low to mid 60s in eastern Colorado
through western Kansas, with upper 60s to low 70s across the rest
of Kansas. Highs tomorrow will be slightly cooler with highs in
the low to mid 80s in eastern and central Kansas, with upper 80s
in western Kansas and eastern Colorado.
