.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 301 PM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024

The closed upper low that brought meaningful rainfall to portions of
the area yesterday continues to lift to the northeast, into
portions of central Nebraska. Visible satellite imagery shows
the low centered over central and western Nebraska, and some
clearing skies across eastern Colorado. The low is expected to
continue to lift to the north/northeast overnight with clearing
skies. There will be a brief period of a few hours Monday
morning where some patchy frost may develop.

Monday and Tuesday, weak ridging, followed by zonal flow brings
warmer temperatures and sunny skies to the area. High temperatures
Monday will be in the 70s. A few 80s cannot be ruled out on
Tuesday.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Issued at 113 AM MDT Mon Apr 29 2024

At the start of the long term period, the area is under
southwesterly flow aloft as an upper level trough axis is crossing
the Rockies. At the surface, a cold front will have recently moved
through, placing temperatures slightly below normal, only into the
middle-upper 50s to upper 60s. Light showers and a few rumbles of
thunder may continue for parts of the area through the day (25-35%
chance) and even on into the weekend (~20% chance) as weak
disturbances move through the generally zonal flow. The area will
undergo a warming trend beginning Friday, with temperatures climbing
into the middle 60s to low-mid 70s, upper 60s to middle 70s
Saturday, and middle 70s to low 80s Sunday. Overnight lows from 30s
