FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE Goodland KS
300 PM MDT Sun Apr 14 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 10 PM MDT MONDAY...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM CDT MONDAY...
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY
EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

The Red Flag Warning that is in effect Monday has been expanded to
include all but Red Willow, Norton and Graham counties which remain
in a Fire Weather Watch. They remain in the watch because its possible
higher dewpoints and lower temperatures may linger across the watch
area which would result in Red Flag conditions not being met. In the
warning area, south to southwest winds will gust in the 35 to 45 mph
range.

On Tuesday, strong northwest winds, gusting 40 to 65 mph are
anticipated with the highest gusts generally west of Highway 27.
Minimum relative humidity will be higher, in the 30 to 45 percent
range. There will also be a good chance for light rainfall Tuesday
night with amounts generally from a trace to maybe one quarter inch.

There may be near critical to critical fire weather conditions south
of Interstate 70 Wednesday.
