Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wichita KS
1227 PM CDT Sun Oct 15 2017

.SHORT TERM...(Today through Tuesday night)
Issued at 212 AM CDT Sun Oct 15 2017

A much quieter weather pattern is in store for the region today
through Tuesday night. High pressure will continue to build into
the region and winds will calm down. Temperatures will be below
normal for the next day or so. Overnight lows tonight will be cold
enough for some patchy frost in northern zones of the CWA but not
cold enough to allow for wide spread frost. Monday and Tuesday
will see a slight warming trend to temperatures but will remain
close to normal.

.LONG TERM...(Wednesday through Saturday)
Issued at 212 AM CDT Sun Oct 15 2017

The extended range looks to be dominated by high pressure. Winds
will shift to the southwest for this time period which will allow
for a continued warming trend. Temperatures, while above normal
for this time of year, are not expected to break into the 80s but
remain in the mid to upper 70s with lows in the upper 50s for the
most part. Moisture transport looks to pick back up toward the end
of the week and the weekend. This will bring the humidity back to
the region but the chances for precipitation looks to remain low
until Sunday.
