Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
434 PM CDT Wed May 1 2024

A few showers and storms have festered for most of the day across
the eastern half of Kansas, but coverage in this activity has
decreased throughout the day. A couple of severe storms are
expected to develop across western Kansas later this evening and
slowly move eastward tonight. Very large hail, damaging winds, and
perhaps a couple of tornadoes will be possible with any storm that
develops across western Kansas this evening into tonight.
Meanwhile, a cold front is expected to dive southward late tonight
into Thursday morning. A few storms are expected to accompany this
front as it sweeps across the region. Lows tonight will range from
the upper 30s across northeast Colorado to the mid 60s across
southeast Kansas and southern Missouri.

For Thursday, a few additional storms may develop during the
afternoon hours across southeast Kansas and southern Missouri.
However, in general, most of the region should stay dry during
the day. Highs across the central plains Thursday afternoon will
be in the mid 60s to mid 70s. Storm chances come to an end
Thursday night for much of the region, and lows will range from
the upper 30s across the northern High Plains to the upper 50s
across southern Missouri.
