Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Ridging of 30.1 inches is currently centered over the
Upper Great Lakes and shifts east today as a 29.7 inch low
pressure tracks across the Upper Mississippi Valley. The low drags
29.8 inch troughing across Lake Superior tonight before tracking
northeast over Ontario and deepening to 29.6 inches on Friday. A
weak 30.0 inch trough pivots across the lake on Saturday ahead of
ridging that builds to 30.1 inches by Saturday evening; this
ridging persists through Sunday. Ridging shifts east early next
week as a broad 29.2 inch low pressure develops on the Northern
Plains on Monday.
