THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN JUAN HAS ISSUED A HIGH RIP
CURRENT RISK, WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AST FRIDAY.

* LOCATION...FROM THE SAN JUAN AREA BEACHES THROUGH THE SOUTHEAST
  COAST OF PUERTO RICO AND THE NORTH AND EAST BEACHES OF ST CROIX.

* TIMING...UNTIL 6 AM AST FRIDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...STRONG CURRENTS THAT CAN CARRY AWAY EVEN THE BEST
  SWIMMERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS.

SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, RELAX AND
FLOAT. DON`T SWIM AGAINST THE CURRENT. IF ABLE, SWIM IN A
DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE
SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE FOR HELP.
