CLIMATE REPORT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BOISE ID

...................................

...THE BOISE ID CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2015...

FOG AND LOW CLOUDS WERE THE PREDOMINANT FEATURES OF JANUARY/S
WEATHER. ONLY SIX DAYS WERE MOSTLY SUNNY. A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE
ALOFT...PLUS HIGH PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE...CREATED FAVORABLE
CONDITIONS FOR THE TEMPERATURE INVERSION WHICH PERSISTED THROUGH
MOST OF THE MONTH. HIGHER ELEVATIONS WERE UNSEASONABLY WARM...WHILE
AT BOISE THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS CLOSE TO NORMAL. THERE
WERE NO UNUSUALLY WARM OR COLD READINGS. WHILE LOWS WERE BELOW
FREEZING ON ALL BUT ONE NIGHT...HIGHS FAILED TO REACH THE FREEZING
MARK ON ONLY THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF THE MONTH. THE RIDGE
OCCASIONALLY WEAKENED ENOUGH TO ALLOW PACIFIC MOISTURE TO BRING
MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION. BUT THERE WERE NO MAJOR WEATHER SYSTEMS...
SO PRECIPITATION TOTALED ONLY 70 PERCENT OF NORMAL...AND SNOWFALL
WAS BARELY OVER AN INCH.
