.....AUGUST 2015 WARMER AND MUCH DRIER.....

UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE DOMINATED THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION FOR
MOST OF AUGUST...WHICH RESULTED IN VERY WARM AND DRY WEATHER ACROSS
MUCH OF NORTHEASTERN COLORADO. NOT MUCH IN THE WAY OF HEAVY RAIN
OCCURRED DURING THE MONTH. HOWEVER...ON THE AFTERNOON OF THE
10TH...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN AND HAIL DEVELOPED OVER
SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF METRO DENVER...PRODUCING FLOODING OVER SECTIONS
OF PARKER AND CENTENNIAL. THE ONLY NOTEWORTHY PATTERN CHANGE
OCCURRED AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH...AS A STRONG UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVED ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN ROCKIES
INTO THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN GREAT PLAINS STATES. A STRONG COLD
FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM PRODUCED SOME SEVERE WEATHER
ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN COLORADO AND THE PALMER DIVIDE ON
THE 17TH. THIS SYSTEM ALSO BROUGHT MUCH COOLER TEMPERATURES TO NORTH
CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN COLORADO FROM THE 17TH THROUGH THE 19TH.
VERY WARM TEMPERATURES RETURNED TO NORTHEASTERN COLORADO ON THE
21ST...AND CONTINUED THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH...AS UPPER LEVEL
HIGH PRESSURE REBUILT OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN STATES AND SOUTHERN
ROCKIES.

THE MONTH WAS 98 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 15TH. THE COLDEST
