THE MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST WAS ACTUALLY A DEGREE BELOW
THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE.  HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE THE COOLEST IN SEVEN YEARS.
HOWEVER...THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURES WERE THE WARMEST IN FIVE YEARS.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TWO DAYS...AUGUST 21ST AND 22ND...TEMPERATURES WERE
ABOVE 70 DEGREES EVERY OTHER DAY OF THE MONTH. THERE WERE 11 DAYS WITH LOWS AT OR
ABOVE 75 DEGREES...WHICH WAS THE HIGHEST SINCE 2012. THERE WAS ONE DAY WITH LOWS
AT OR ABOVE 80 DEGREES...WHICH WAS THE MOST SINCE 2012.

RAINFALL WAS WELL ABOVE AVERAGE. IT WAS THE WETTEST AUGUST IN 25 YEARS AND ONE
OF THE WETTEST EVER RECORDED.

.MONTHLY TEMPERATURES...
THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS THE COOLEST SINCE 20009...AND THE 6TH COOLEST
ON RECORD. HOWEVER...THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 2011...
AND THE 10TH WARMEST ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS THE COOLEST
SINCE 2014.
