Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
An upper-level trough moving toward the state from the northwest
and a surface trough over the central islands will produce
unstable conditions. Expect thunderstorms and locally heavy
downpours with light to locally moderate east to southeast winds
through Monday. A surface trough west of the islands will
maintain light to locally moderate winds across the area from
Tuesday through mid-week.

Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels-

.REST OF TONIGHT...East winds 10 to 20 knots. Wind waves 4 to
5 feet. Northwest swell 5 feet and east swell 3 to 4 feet.
Scattered heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms.
.SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT...Windward waters, east to southeast
winds 10 to 15 knots. Elsewhere, east winds around 10 knots. Wind
waves 4 to 6 feet. Northwest swell 6 feet and east swell 3 feet.
Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms.
.MONDAY...East to southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Wind waves 4 to
6 feet. Northwest swell 6 feet and east swell 5 feet. Scattered
heavy showers and thunderstorms.
.MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...East to southeast winds 10 to
15 knots. Wind waves 3 to 5 feet. Northwest swell 5 to 8 feet and
east swell 5 feet. Scattered showers.
.THURSDAY...East winds 10 to 20 knots. Wind waves 5 to 7 feet.
Northwest swell 6 to 8 feet and east swell 4 to 5 feet. Scattered
showers.
