THE LATEST DROUGHT MONITOR ISSUED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE ON DEC 26  SHOWS D1 OR D2 DROUGHT ACROSS MOST  OF
SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS.  AREAS FROM DODGE CITY SOUTH TO THE OKLAHOMA
STATE LINE WERE IN D2 DROUGHT.

CURRENT ENSO STATE...

A WEAK TO MODERATE LA NINA IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH THE
WINTER.  THE OFFICIAL FORECAST FROM THE CPC CALLS FOR SLIGHTLY ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION THROUGH THE NEXT
THREE MONTHS AND INTO THE SPRING.

.FIRE DANGER IMPACTS...

FUELS WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUPPORTIVE FOR ACTIVE FIRE BEHAVIOR.
