FLOOD STATEMENT

.Flooding due to ice action and runoff from recent rainfall continues along
the Mississippi River, Iowa River and Rock River.

River forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall for
the next 48 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

* Until further notice.
* At  2:00 PM Friday the stage was 12.4 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...Rise to 12.7 feet Monday morning...then begin falling.

  The Mississippi River at Burlington.
* Until further notice.
* At  3:00 PM Friday the stage was 18.3 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...Fall to 18.2 feet Saturday morning.
* Impact...At  18.0 feet...Water affects the Burlington Auditorium
  parking lot. Water also affects Bluff Harbor Marina. Water affects
  North Shore Marina in Fort Madison. In Dallas City, water affects
  First Street at the ball park.

* Until Monday.
* At  3:00 PM Friday the stage was 16.9 feet...and falling.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...Fall below flood stage Monday. Ice action may result in
  additional river level fluctuations from the expected forecast
  over the next several days.
* Impact...At  16.0 feet...Water affects agricultural land along the
  river. Water is several feet deep in places.

* Forecast...Rise to 19.7 feet Saturday evening. Fall below flood
  stage Monday. Ice action may result in   additional river level
  fluctuations from the expected forecast over the next several days.

  The Rock River near Joslin.
* Until further notice.
* At  2:45 PM Friday the stage was 16.2 feet...and rising.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Recent activity...There is a considerable amount of ice in the
  channel.
* Forecast...Rise to 16.3 feet Saturday morning...then begin falling.
  Ice action may result in additional river level fluctuations from
  the expected forecast over the next several days.
* Impact...At  16.0 feet...Water affects much of Barstow Road between
  Barstow and Osborn. Water also affects homes in Osborn.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Rock River at Moline.
* Until further notice.
* At  2:30 PM Friday the stage was 12.7 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity...The ice jam has broken up and the river is
  flowing freely. There is a large amount of ice upstream in the
  river.
* Forecast...Rise to 13.3 feet Sunday morning...then begin falling.
  Ice action may result in additional localized river level
  fluctuations of a foot or more from the expected forecast over
  the next several days.
* Impact...At  13.2 feet...Water affects 60th Street south of John
  Deere Road in Moline and 75th Ave from Green Valley Park 48th St.
  Water is on Canal Road in Big Island. Smith`s Island is affected
  by flood waters.
