Affecting the following counties in Kentucky...Boyd...Greenup and in Ohio...
Gallia...Lawrence...Scioto and in West Virginia...Cabell...Mason...

Flows and runoff from previous rains will continue to slow this afternoon
and this evening.  Most rivers have crested or will crest this afternoon and
start a slow fall tonight...except for the Ohio River...which will continue
to rise through tonight and into Friday.

Backwater flooding can be expected along the rivers until they start to
recede and fall below flood stage.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around and don`t drown.  Do not drive into areas where
water is flowing over the roadway.  Most deaths occur when motorists
try crossing flooded roads.

Please report high water to the National Weather Service by
calling toll free...1-800-401-9535...when you can do so safely.

  the Coal River At Tornado.
* AT  2:15 PM Thursday the stage WAS 28.4 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river is in crest and will start to fall to below flood
  stage by tonight.
* At stages near 27.0 feet...Coal river road is flooded in several places along
  river. Smith creek road and Ferrell roads are impassable.
* A crest near 28.4 feet compares to a previous crest of 29.0 feet on November 20
  2003.

for the Tug Fork River At Williamson.
* AT  2:20 PM Thursday the stage WAS 39.3 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river has crested at 39.65 feet at 1pm and will continue
to fall to below flood stage by Friday morning.
* At stages near 37.0 feet...Hosts of roads outside of town are closed.
* A crest near 39.7 feet compares to a previous crest of 40.7 feet on May 10 2009.

* AT  1:00 PM Thursday the stage was estimated at 44.5 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 38.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will continue to rise to near 48.5 feet by after midnight
The river will fall below flood stage by Friday afternoon  .
* At stages near 49.0 feet...Grade school at north end of town and west of
  railroad affected.

  the Tygart Valley River At Belington.
* AT  1:45 PM Thursday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river crested at 17.15 feet at 9am and will continue to fall
to below flood stage by early Friday.
* At stages near 17.0 feet...Flooding of the streets of Belington due to storm
  sewers backing up. Many low lying areas are flooded.
* A crest near 17 feet compares to a previous crest of 15.2 feet on December 8
  2013.

* At stages near 21.0 feet...Chesnut and McCartney Streets flood. Vietnam
  Veterans Park is flooded just upstream from the covered bridge.

* AT  1:45 PM Thursday the stage WAS 25.3 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by after
  midnight .
* At stages near 25.0 feet...Several streets, homes and businesses along the
  river floods. Business/factory north of Buckhannon near the Morton Avenue
  bridge near the gage.

* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river is crest around 34.5 feet and will start to fall this
afternoon and continue fall to below flood stage by tonight.
* At stages near 35.0 feet...Roads along the Guyandotte near West Hamlin flood.
* A crest near 34.4 feet compares to a previous crest of 34.3 feet on April 16 2007.

* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
* Forecast...the River will continue rising to near 43.6 feet by Friday morning.
  The river will fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* At stages near 43.5 feet...Route 33 at West Creek and Brinker Run between
  Vanadium and Letart is flooded. Sand Hill road near Letart is flooded.
* A crest near 43.6 feet compares to a previous crest of 43.6 feet on March 15
  2010.

* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to rise to
  near 50.6 feet by Friday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
  Saturday morning.
* At stages near 51.0 feet...West Virginia Route 60 east, Main Street, above Pats
  Branch is flooded.
* A crest near 50.5 feet compares to a previous crest of 52.2 feet on March 13
  2011.

* Flood stage is 52.0 feet.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to rise to
  near 53.6 feet by Friday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
  Saturday morning.
* At stages near 52.0 feet...Minor flooding of roadways in low lying areas due to
  backwater.
* A crest near 53.6 feet compares to a previous crest of 55.5 feet on January 10
  2005.

* AT  1:30 PM Thursday the stage WAS 47.5 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 54.0 feet.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Friday morning and continue to rise to
  near 55.9 feet by early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood
  stage by early afternoon Saturday .
* At stages near 56.0 feet...Several low lying areas flooded and backwater
  affects on both sides of the river.
* A crest near 55.9 feet compares to a previous crest of 56.8 feet on March 13
  2011.
