Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College PA
1055 AM EDT Fri Apr 28 2017

.DISCUSSION...
A cold front will push through the eastern half of
Pennsylvania early today, followed by clearing skies and
light west to southwest wind as a ridge of high pressure
drifts overhead. Minimum RH will fall to between 35 and 40
percent this afternoon. Moisture will return from the south
late tonight and Saturday.

An anomalously strong mid and upper level subtropical ridge
will build westward from the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend.
We will be on the warm and moist western periphery of the ridge
most of the weekend with a few bouts of showers and
thunderstorms anticipated. The exact timing of any rain will
be difficult to pinpoint both Saturday and Sunday, thanks to a
slowly meandering frontal boundary over the region. A few of
the thunderstorms could be on the strong side with gusty winds.

The best chance for rain will be Monday afternoon into Monday
evening. A strong trough should bring cooler drier weather to
the region for the second part of next week.
