Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
404 AM CST Sun Feb 26 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Very dry conditions are expected today, as an area of high
pressure moves across the Tennessee Valley. Relative humidity
values are expected to drop to between 25 and 30 percent this
afternoon. Winds will remain very light with mixing heights
around 3000 feet. Thus, dispersion index values will remain only
fair.

As winds shift to the south/southeast tonight into Monday,
relative humidity values will increase quickly. Showers are
expected to develop on Monday, as disturbances move into the
area and moisture increases. At this time, no thunderstorms are
expected. Transport winds increase some to around 10 to 15 mph,
but mixing heights will lower. This combination will likely keep
dispersion index values fair on Monday as well.

Fog potential over the next few days: We are not expecting any fog
formation tonight through Monday. However, low cloud ceilings
below 1000 feet could produce some reductions to visibility on
Monday in higher elevations.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Relative humidity values will
drop to Red Flag criteria today, but winds will be too light for
conditions to be met.
