Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
258 PM CDT Mon May 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A mix of sun and clouds this afternoon will transition to mostly
cloudy skies tonight in advance of a line of strong to severe
thunderstorms overnight tonight. In addition to heavy downpours, winds
as strong as 70mph and a few tornadoes are all possible. The
storms exit the region shortly after sunrise before a renewed
threat for severe weather in St. Louis and areas south/east.

The most tangible threat for severe weather arrives Wednesday,
with very large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes all possible.
After Wednesday, a pattern change leads to cooler (near normal)
temperatures and overall calmer conditions.
