Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Washington and North Idaho
National Weather Service Spokane WA
607 AM PDT Wed Jun 28 2017

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 677 AND WESTERN FIRE WEATHER ZONE 673.

.DISCUSSION...

Northwest winds will be breezy to locally gusty...especially in
the late afternoon and evening near ongoing incidents and through
the Cascade Gaps today while afternoon humidities fall into the
teens. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon
over the northern mountains...some which may drift into the
northern portions of 674. Lightning strikes and outflow winds to
30 mph are the main concerns with any cells. High pressure
strengthens Thursday and Friday providing light and terrain
driven winds and another short-lived warming trend. The next
push of winds will come through the Cascade gaps Friday evening.
Monday also has the potential to produce critical wind and
humidity levels with another dry cold front passage.

Forecasts for 20 foot wind speeds (valleys and ridge tops) are
