FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
230 PM PDT WED APR 23 2014

...MORE WETTING RAINS THE REST OF THE WEEK...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...ANOTHER SHOT OF WETTING RAIN OCCURS TONIGHT
AND THURSDAY AS THE NEXT FRONTAL SYSTEM IMPACTS THE AREA. A COOL AND
UNSETTLED PATTERN RESIDES OVER THE DISTRICT THURSDAY NIGHT AND
FRIDAY FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER WET SYSTEM OVER THE WEEKEND. LONGER RANGE
CHARTS INDICATE A MUCH WARMER AND DRIER PATTERN SETTING UP AROUND
THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

.DISCUSSION...THE NEXT FEW DAYS LOOK TO BE WET WITH BELOW-NORMAL
DAYTIME TEMPERATURES AND SNOW LEVELS NEAR THE CASCADE PASSES. A WARM
FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT NORTH INTO WASHINGTON THIS
EVENING...FOLLOWED BY THE COLD FRONT OVERNIGHT. THIS WILL BRING
ANOTHER ROUND OF WIDESPREAD WETTING RAIN TO THE AREA WITH SNOW
LEVELS FALLING TO JUST BELOW CASCADE PASSES BY THURSDAY MORNING. IT
WILL REMAIN COOL AND UNSETTLED THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY...WITH THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE FRIDAY. THE STORM PARADE
CONTINUES OVER THE WEEKEND WITH ANOTHER FRONT MOVING THROUGH
SATURDAY NIGHT. THE WET PATTERN PERSISTS THROUGH MONDAY...BUT LONGER
RANGE CHARTS ARE TRENDING TOWARD A MUCH WARMER AND DRIER PATTERN
BEGINNING TUESDAY.

***THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY WINDS***
***WINDS ARE 20 FOOT 10 MINUTE AVERAGES***
***CWR-CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN 0.25 OR GREATER***
