.DISCUSSION...
A ridge of high pressure remains in control of eastern Idaho
weather, supporting high confidence in dry, mostly sunny/clear,
low-impact conditions with generally light winds and warm high
temperatures running 5-10 degrees above normal for mid-March.
Local winds near the burn area have been running a bit higher and
more gusty than model guidance each of the last two days based on
multiple surface weather stations, so have nudged toward slightly
higher values in the below forecast. Comparing Tuesday and
Wednesday...Wednesday will be the (slightly) breezier day. The
ridge will begin to flatten/break down Wednesday with a shortwave
trough brushing across the northern Rockies Wednesday night and
Thursday. The first chance of a shower getting anywhere close to
the burn area will be Wednesday night, but even there overall
probabilities are low with most shower activity holding further
north. Stronger winds arrive Thursday.
