...SLIGHT RISK OF WATERSPOUTS THIS AFTERNOON...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS AND ADJACENT
COASTAL WATERS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A moist and unstable air mass will allow cumulus cloud lines to
develop in the vicinity of the Florida Keys today. As these cloud
lines build, environmental conditions will become marginally
favorable for waterspout formation this afternoon on nearshore
waters surrounding the Florida Keys. A waterspout tends to develop
beneath the dark, flat bottom of a large cloud buildup, just at
the hint of rain. Winds in and near waterspouts can easily
overturn small boats. If a waterspout is sighted, move away from
it as quickly and safely as possible.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will impact the Florida Keys,
as well as nearshore and offshore waters adjacent to the island
chain today and tonight. The primary thunderstorm hazards are
cloud to surface lightning strikes and locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible along the Florida
Keys, as well as over nearshore and offshore waters surrounding
the island chain Saturday through Thursday. The primary
thunderstorm hazard will be cloud to surface lightning strikes.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated, however you are encouraged
to report waterspout sightings directly to the Florida Keys
National Weather Service Office in Key West by calling
305-295-1316, extension 3, by sending us a tweet at @NWSKeyWest,
or by posting pictures on our Facebook wall at
