THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL TRACK NORTHEAST NEAR THE EAST COAST
TODAY...SPREADING MOSTLY LIGHT RAIN ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS
AND SOME LIGHT SNOWFALL FOR HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN
APPALACHIANS THROUGH MIDDAY.

THE BEST CHANCES LOCALLY FOR A LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION OF
GENERALLY 1 TO 4 INCHES...WILL BE ACROSS THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS AND
NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE...AND ALSO THE HIGHER TERRAIN
OF SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA. SOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5
INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST TENNESSEE WHERE A
WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH NOON TODAY.

ANOTHER UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL TRACK THROUGH THE REGION
TONIGHT. LIGHT RAIN THIS EVENING WILL QUICKLY CHANGE OVER TO SNOW
ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OVERNIGHT...RESULTING IN ANOTHER 1 TO
3 INCHES OF SNOWFALL ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST
TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...AND ALONG THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

LIGHT SNOWFALL OF UP TO AN INCH FROM A DEPARTING LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM MAY ACCUMULATE ALONG THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ACROSS SOUTHWEST
VIRGINIA...NORTHEAST TENNESSEE AND THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS
THROUGH MIDDAY THURSDAY.

OTHERWISE...NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED.
