  NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY...
  MASSACHUSETTS BAY AND IPSWICH BAY...

AT 515 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS
WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM THE MOUTH OF THE MERRIMACK
RIVER TO BEVERLY TO NEAR BOSTON BUOY 44013...MOVING EAST AT 15 KNOTS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
EASTERN POINT MA...BEVERLY HARBOR...BOSTON BUOY 44013...MASS BAY BUOY
44029...STELLWAGEN BANK...IPSWICH BAY...THATCHER ISLAND...MARBLEHEAD
NECK...ESSEX BAY...THE COASTAL WATERS EAST OF BOSTON HARBOR AND PLUM
ISLAND.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXPECT GUSTY WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS...BRIEFLY ROUGH SEAS AND
LIGHTNING STRIKES. CONSIDER HEADING FOR SAFE HARBOR UNTIL THESE
STORMS PASS.

FREQUENT LIGHTNING CAN OCCUR WITH THESE STORMS. IF CAUGHT ON THE
OPEN WATER STAY BELOW DECK IF POSSIBLE AND KEEP AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED
