...VERY WINDY OVERNIGHT...

.AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL CREATE VERY WINDY CONDITIONS IN
THE SOUTHERN GRANDE RONDE VALLEY. THE SAME FRONT WILL CREATE VERY
STRONG DOWNSLOPE WINDS NEAR THE BASE OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST THURSDAY...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Wind
Advisory...which is in effect until 4 AM PST Thursday.

* WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts around 50 mph.

* TIMING...Winds gusting 45 to 50 mph have been observed along
  along the base of the Blue Mountains.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

LADD AND PYLES CANYONS...

* WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* TIMING...Winds gusting to 45 to 55 mph have been observed along
  Interstate 84 near the base of Ladd Canyon. These winds will
  continue in the southern Grande Ronde Valley through early
  Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
