height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

.SYNOPSIS FOR CALIFORNIA WATERS...A low pres trough will persist
near the California coast through the period. The trough will
weaken today into Wed, strengthen late Wed into Fri night, then
weaken Sat and Sat night. A high pres ridge NW of the area will
persist today, then move into the northern waters and weaken
tonight. The ridge will strengthen and slowly build E Wed into
Sat night. A weak cold front will move SE into the northern
waters late Wed into Wed night, and dissipate over central waters
Thu into Thu night.
