...PORTLAND AND SALEM ARE ON TRACK FOR THE WARMEST METEOROLOGICAL
WINTER ON RECORD...

AS WE NEAR THE END OF THE MONTH WE CAN BE REASONABLY CERTAIN THAT
PORTLAND AND SALEM OREGON WILL RECORD THE WARMEST WINTER ON RECORD.
THE WINTER REFERRED TO HERE IS FOR WHAT IS KNOWN AS METEOROLOGICAL
WINTER...THE MONTHS OF DECEMBER...JANUARY AND FEBRUARY.

ONCE TODAYS HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES ARE RECORDED AT MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT...PORTLANDS AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE THREE MONTH PERIOD
IS LIKELY TO COME IN AROUND 45.4 DEGREES...BEATING THE OLD RECORD OF
45.2 SET IN 1957 TO 1958. FOR SALEM...THE WINTER OF 2014 TO 2015 IS
LIKELY TO AVERAGE OUT AROUND 45.9 WHICH WOULD TIE IT WITH THE WINTER
OF 1933 TO 1934.

TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR PORTLAND IN DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY DATE
BACK TO 1940 TO 1941...AND FOR SALEM BACK TO 1893 TO 1894.
