...High Water on the Chena River in Fairbanks through Wednesday...
...High Water Remains Along Perkins Drive...

Water levels on the Chena River in Fairbanks will remain high
through Wednesday. This high water is causing flooding of some
low lying bike paths and back yards along the river. This is also
causing low clearance at the Cushman, Barnette Street and Peger
Road bridges in Fairbanks, so high profile boats should not boat
through town.

This prolonged period of high river water will cause ground water
to rise and some basements in Fairbanks may see ground water seep
into them.

Downstream on along the Tanana River, water remains over Perkins
Drive...Melanie Lane and Baurick Court off of Rosie Creek Road.
This morning at 8am, Melanie Lane was reported to have 3 inches of
water over the road, with similar conditions on Perkins Drive
south of Melanie Lane. Baurick Court was reported to have deeper
water on the road and to not be passable by automobile. Many yards
and driveways along these roads have water in them as well.

Water is expected to recede slowly along the Tanana River over the
the next several days.
