Hydrologic Statement

...Water levels are high or forecast to have significant rises for
the following rivers or creeks:  Grand River at Ionia...Sycamore
Creek at Holt...Looking Glass River at Eagle...Maple River at Maple
Rapids...

.Milder air will cover the region through the weekend. Precipitation
is expected Sunday into early next week. Rainfall and snowmelt will
lead to river rises, but temperatures may not be warm enough to
drastically weaken river ice. This will play a large role in keeping
conditions stable. Residents living in or near flood prone areas
should continue to pay close attention to forecast updates. The
following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
precipitation.

For the Grand River At Ionia... the latest stage was 11.6 feet at 8
PM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecast
is 13.9 feet Thursday early afternoon. Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

For the Sycamore Creek At Holt... the latest stage was estimated at
4.2 feet at 7 PM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum
stage forecasted is 6.6 feet early Tuesday morning. Flood stage is
8.0 feet. At 6.0 feet... Flooding begins in low lying areas along
the creek and at the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and Scott Woods
Park.

For the Looking Glass River Near Eagle... the latest stage was 4.7
feet at 8 PM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage
forecast is 6.1 feet Wednesday early afternoon. Flood stage is 7.0
feet. At 6.0 feet... Expect minor flooding of low lying wooded
areas.

For the Maple River At Maple Rapids... the latest stage was 5.6 feet
at 8 PM Thursday. No flooding is forecast. The maximum stage forecast
is 7.9 feet early Thursday morning. Flood stage is 9.0 feet. At 7.0
feet... River is bankfull. Expect minor flooding in low lying
pastures, farmland, and wooded areas adjacent to the river.

Safety message... Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
