IT WAS A COMFORTABLE JULY AFTERNOON ACROSS THOSE PORTIONS OF SOUTH
DAKOTA THAT RECEIVED SUN. FOR RESIDENTS ACROSS THE NORTHEAST AND
EAST CENTRAL HOWEVER IT WAS A BIT CHILLY WITH ONLY BRIEF PEAKS OF
SUN AND A FRESH NORTHERLY BREEZE. HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE
NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL WERE IN THE UPPER 60S TO AROUND 70...OR
AROUND 15 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. WARMEST READINGS IN THE LOWER AND
MID 80S OCCURRED ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL PRAIRIES
WITH PHILIP AND WINNER THE WARMEST AT 84 DEGREES. THE REMAINDER OF
THE STATE HAD HIGHS IN THE 70S.

AFTERNOON WINDS WERE FROM THE NORTH AND NORTHWEST AT 15 TO 25 MPH
WITH OCCASIONAL HIGHER GUSTS ALTHOUGH SPEEDS WERE LIGHTER NEAR THE
WESTERN BORDER.

AT 8 PM CDT SKIES REMAINED CLOUDY EAST OF AN ABERDEEN...SIOUX FALLS
LINE AND MOSTLY CLOUDY BETWEEN MOBRIDGE AND ABERDEEN. THE REST OF
THE RUSHMORE STATE WAS CLEAR. TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE 70S ACROSS
THE WEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL...AND FROM THE MID 60S TO AROUND 70
ACROSS THE EAST AND NORTH CENTRAL. EXTREMES WERE FROM 64 AT
WATERTOWN TO 77 DEGREES AT PHILIP...PINE RIDGE AND WINNER. THE WIND
FAVORED A NORTHERLY DIRECTION AT 8 TO 16 MPH.
