...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT CLARENDON AND
SOUTHWESTERN SUMTER COUNTIES...

At 528 PM EDT, radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms
located along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Summerton
to near Gourdin. Movement was south at 5 mph, towards Lake Marion.

Winds in excess of 40 mph, pea size hail, and lightning are
all possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Marion, Manning, Summerton, Pinewood, Paxville, Privateer,
Wedgewood and Lakewood.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If you are on or near Lake Marion, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Strong winds will accompany the gust
front as it moves across the lake. Also, remember lightning can
strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to
safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
