HERE IS A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT...

THERE IS AN ENHANCED THREAT FOR THE SPREAD OF WILDFIRES ACROSS
EXTREME SOUTHEAST OHIO...EXTREME NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...MUCH OF WEST
VIRGINIA...AND EXTREME SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...FROM THIS AFTERNOON INTO
EARLY THIS EVENING. GUSTY SOUTH WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH
AND RELATIVE HUMIDITIES DROPPING INTO THE 25 TO 30 PERCENT
RANGE...WILL COMBINE WITH DRY BRUSH AND NATURAL DEBRIS TO CREATE
THIS ENHANCED FIRE THREAT.

OPEN BURNING OF ANY TYPE IS CONSIDERED EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT
THIS TIME...AND IS DISCOURAGED. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HEAT AND SPARKS
WHILE OPERATING ANY EQUIPMENT IN WILDLAND AREAS. IN ADDITION...
AVOID SMOKING IN WILDLAND AREAS...OR TOSSING CIGARETTE BUTTS.

WEST VIRGINIA LAW PROHIBITS OUTDOOR BURNING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF
7 AM AND 5 PM.

KENTUCKY LAW PROHIBITS OUTDOOR BURNING WITHIN 150 FEET OF
WOODLAND OR BRUSHLAND BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6 AM AND 6 PM.

OHIO LAW PROHIBITS OUTDOOR BURNING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6 AM AND 6
PM.

VIRGINIA LAW PROHIBITS OUTDOOR BURNING WITHIN 300 FEET OF WOODS AND
DRY GRASS WHICH CAN CARRY A FIRE INTO THE WOODS...BETWEEN MIDNIGHT
AND 4 PM.
