...HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...

FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL GRADUALLY MOVE ACROSS MINNESOTA AND INTO
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. SEVERAL PERIODS OF
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE REGION BETWEEN FRIDAY NIGHT
AND MONDAY EVENING. INITIAL THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WILL OCCUR
OVER EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH THE STORMS
PROGRESSING EASTWARD DURING THE EVENING. BY DAYBREAK ON
SATURDAY...THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO IMPACT AREAS FROM
INTERNATIONAL FALLS TO WALKER. THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL SLOWLY
MOVE EASTWARD SATURDAY WITH ANOTHER ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON HOURS AND PERSISTING
OVERNIGHT OVER NORTHEAST AND PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MINNESOTA.
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE SAME AREA ON SUNDAY
AND EAST-CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN SUNDAY NIGHT
AND MONDAY. AMPLE MOISTURE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PRODUCE HEAVY
RAINFALL WITH 3-DAY VALUES OF 1-3 INCHES LIKELY...WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE IN THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORMS.

SOME AREA STREAMS ARE STILL RUNNING HIGH FROM THE RECENT RAINFALL.
SOILS ARE NEAR SATURATION OVER NORTHEAST MINNESOTA AND PORTIONS
OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN. AS A RESULT...MUCH OF THE RAINFALL MAY RUN
OFF INTO STREAMS AND RIVERS RESULTING IN A POTENTIAL FOR MINOR
FLOODING. IN ADDITION TO THE STREAM FLOODING THREAT...HEAVY
RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING IN LOW-LYING AND FLOOD PRONE
AREAS.
