...THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN
MINNESOTA..
  MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT AITKIN AFFECTING AITKIN COUNTY

.WARM CONDITIONS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS IS RESULTING IN SNOW MELT
RUNOFF ACROSS THE AREA. IN ADDITON TO SNOW MELT...RAIN HAS FALLEN
IN THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI BASIN DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. PRIOR TO
APRIL 8TH THERE WERE 3 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW WATER EQUIVALENT ACROSS
THEMISSISSIPPI HEADWATER BASIN. THE SNOW MELT COMBINED WITH NEW RAIN
OF 0.3 INCHES TO 0.75 INCHES IS RESULTING IN SPRING FLOODING.
RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS THE BASIN AND ADDITIONAL SNOW MELT WILL SLOW
DUE TO COOLER TEMPERATURES INTO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK.

THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR
  THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER AT AITKIN.
* AT  2:30 PM SATURDAY THE STAGE WAS 12.3 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 12.0 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 13.2 FEET BY
  EARLY TUESDAY MORNING THEN BEGIN FALLING.
* AT 13.0 FEET...SOME COUNTY ROADS ARE COVERED WITH WATER..
THIS CREST COMPARES TO A PREVIOUS CREST OF 13.9 FEET ON MAY 3 2008.
