FLOOD STATEMENT

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Minnesota...

  Mississippi River at Aitkin affecting Aitkin and Crow Wing Counties
  Mississippi River near Fort Ripley affecting Morrison and Crow Wing
  Counties
  Snake River near Pine City affecting Pine County

.Water from the heavy rains earlier this week will continue moving
through area streams and rivers, including the Mississippi River
and Snake River. The Mississippi River at Aitkin is expected to
slowly recede starting this evening. Meanwhile at Fort Ripley, the
river is expected to remain nearly steady through Monday morning
before beginning a slow recession. The Snake River at Pine City is
forecast to continue to rise through Sunday morning and then begin to
recede Sunday evening.

The Flood Warning continues for...

  The Mississippi River at Aitkin.

* At 9:30 AM Saturday the stage was 14.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Monday morning.
* At 15.0 feet...A few homes become surrounded by water in the
  Cedarbrook neighborhood near Eagle Rd. The Aitkin city park becomes
  flooded.

This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.9 feet on May 3 2008.

* At 9:30 AM Saturday the stage was 11.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Thursday morning.
* At 11.0 feet...This will cause minor flooding of rural areas near
  Fort Ripley.

This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.3 feet on May 22 2015.

  The Snake River near Pine City.

* At 9:15 AM Saturday the stage was 8.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
  to rise to near 9.1 feet by tomorrow early afternoon.the river will
  fall below flood stage by early Monday morning.
* At 9.0 feet...This will cause flooding near Cross Lake near Pine
  City.
