THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST
MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

STRONG AND GUSTY WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL OCCUR ALONG PORTIONS
OF THE NORTH SHORE THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. WINDS WILL BE
SUSTAINED AT 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 45 MPH. LOCALLY
HIGHER GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE AS WELL...ESPECIALLY FROM LITTLE
MARAIS TO GRAND PORTAGE. VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR TONIGHT
AND THIS WILL RESULT IN WIDESPREAD WIND CHILLS OF 25 BELOW TO 40
BELOW ZERO TONIGHT. THE COLDEST CONDITIONS WILL BE ACROSS
NORTHERN MINNESOTA. THE WINDS WILL WEAKEN OVERNIGHT...BUT AIR
TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE NORTHLAND WILL PLUMMET TO 15 BELOW TO 30
DEGREES BELOW ZERO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY HAS
BEEN ISSUED FOR NORTHEAST MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN THROUGH
FRIDAY MORNING. PLEASE READ THE LATEST WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE FOR
MORE INFORMATION.

THE GUSTY WINDS WILL RESULT IN SOME BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW ACROSS ROADS THE NORTHLAND...MOSTLY IN MORE OPEN
AREAS...THROUGH THIS EVENING. TRAVEL MIGHT BE DIFFICULT IN SOME
AREAS.

FRIGID WIND CHILLS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTHLAND FRIDAY
MORNING. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR NORTHEAST
MINNESOTA AND NORTHWEST WISCONSIN FOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR THIS
EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. PLEASE READ THE LATEST WINTER
WEATHER MESSAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
VALLEY MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THE PASSING STORM COULD BRING A LIGHT
WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN TO PORTIONS OF
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.

STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE DUE TO THE PASSAGE OF AN ARCTIC COLD
FRONT ACROSS WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR. WIND SPEEDS AND WAVE HEIGHTS
WILL REMAIN STRONG BEFORE DECREASING LATER TONIGHT. SUSTAINED
WINDS OF 15 TO 30 KNOTS WILL OCCUR AND FREQUENT GALES TO 45 KNOTS
ARE EXPECTED...MAINLY ALONG PORTIONS OF THE NORTH SHORE THROUGH
THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. GALE WARNINGS AND SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES
ARE IN EFFECT THROUGH MUCH OF TONIGHT. PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST
MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE AND NEARSHORE MARINE FORECAST FOR
ADDITIONAL DETAILS. THE STRONG WINDS AND FALLING TEMPERATURES MAY
RESULT IN HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY OVERNIGHT...ESPECIALLY FROM GRAND

ICE FORMATION IN PROTECTED HARBORS AND SHALLOW WATERS IS LIKELY
ONCE AGAIN TONIGHT.

WINDS OVER WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR WILL INCREASE ONCE AGAIN FRIDAY
NIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING AS A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES
THROUGH THE REGION. THE STRONG WINDS AND RESULTANT WAVES MAY
CREATE CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO SMALLER VESSELS.
