URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE

...GALE FORCE WINDS EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY...

.A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL TRACK NORTHEAST FROM IOWA
INTO NORTHERN MICHIGAN LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. THIS SYSTEM
WILL PRODUCE VERY STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY RAINFALL. WINDS WILL
SHIFT TO THE NORTHEAST THIS EVENING...AND INCREASE IN STRENGTH
THROUGH THE NIGHT. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BACK INTO THE NORTH LATE
WEDNESDAY. EXPECT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 KNOTS AND GUSTS 35
TO 45 KNOTS. WAVES WILL BUILD TO 9 TO 11 FEET...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
WAVES POSSIBLE ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A GALE
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 PM CDT
WEDNESDAY. THE GALE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED NORTHEAST WINDS 25 TO 35 KNOTS ARE EXPECTED
  LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* WIND GUSTS...WIND GUSTS WILL INCREASE WEDNESDAY MORNING TO 35 TO
  40 KNOTS...LOCALLY HIGHER GUSTS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE SOUTH
  SHORE.


* WAVES/SEAS...WAVE HEIGHTS WILL INCREASE TO 9 TO 11 FEET ALONG
  THE NORTH SHORE...AND 10 TO 14 FEET ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE
  WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR
OCCURRING. OPERATING A VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES
EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE
HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS.
