SUPERIOR TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... ...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY
FOR THE FAR NORTH SHORE AND FOR AREAS OF THE SOUTH SHORE EAST OF
BAYFIELD PENINSULA FOR TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

.A STRONG SPRING STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES
REGION TODAY INTO THURSDAY MORNING. A STRENGTHENING AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE WILL MOVE FROM NEAR SIOUX FALLS SOUTH DAKOTA LATE THIS
MORNING TO THE EASTERN UPPER PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN BY THURSDAY
AFTERNOON. STRONG EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER
WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR TODAY IN RESPONSE TO THE APPROACHING STORM
SYSTEM. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE NEAR THE HEAD OF THE LAKE AND
ALONG THE WESTERN SIDE OF BAYFIELD PENINSULA TO THE APOSTLE
ISLANDS. THE WINDS SHOULD GRADUALLY SUBSIDE LATE THIS EVENING
INTO THURSDAY MORNING.

  OCCASIONAL GALE FORCE GUSTS TO 35 KNOTS.

* WIND GUSTS...UP TO 35 KNOTS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND WEDNESDAY
  NIGHT.

* WAVES...BUILDING TO 6 TO 10 FEET IN ICE FREE AREAS BY EARLY
  THIS EVENING. THE WINDS COULD BEGIN TO BREAK UP THE ICE COVER
