...KDLH WSR-88D RADAR WILL NOW BE OUT OF SERVICE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY
OCTOBER 28 FOR MAINTENANCE...
This is updated information regarding the ongoing outage for the
Duluth, MN, WSR-88D radar - KDLH.
During the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) upgrades being
performed this week, it was discovered that other major repairs to
the system are needed before the radar can be returned to service.
The KDLH radar is now expected to be out of service until
approximately Friday, October 28, 2016.
Alternate adjacent WSR-88D radars are KMVX, KMPX, KARX, KGRB and
KMQT. In addition, Environment Canada meteorological radars at
Dryden, Ontario (XDR) and Superior West, Ontario (XNI) that are
available on the web and via some mobile phone apps provide some
radar coverage over far northern Minnesota.
