...NOAA Weather Radio Stations in the Northland upgraded...

NWS Duluth implemented a major upgrade to our NOAA Weather Radio
hardware and software today. The new system is closely integrated
with the software we use to look at weather data and make our
forecasts, and will be more reliable than the old system. This
new system also comes with an upgraded voice, named Paul. The
system may mis-pronounce some words, but we have ways to correct
these. If you hear one we have missed, please notify us at
nws.duluth@noaa.gov. There is no need to make any changes to your
radio, the new system is already up and running smoothly.

Stations in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin affected
by this upgrade include...
WXK-45 in Little Fork...
KZZ-44 in Orr...
KZZ-29 in Grand Rapids...
WXI-44 in Ely...
KXI-43 in Grand Marais...
KXI-45 at Gunflint Lake...
WNG-630 in Finland...
