...FLOOD RISK DECREASING DUE TO COLDER TEMPERATURES AND SLOWER
RUNOFF...

.The recent streak of cooler temperatures, and specifically
temperatures below freezing at night, have slowed the snowmelt and
precipitation runoff. As the flow of water into area streams, rivers,
and tributaries slows, the forecast crests have come down. Anyone
with interests along area waterways can expect a longer period of
higher flows, with water levels remaining below flood stage. Ice jams
are still a possibility as ice redevelops, and may result in
localized flooding. We will continue to monitor water levels across
the area and will provide updates to the river forecasts as
warranted.
