The National Weather Service in Duluth MN has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern St. Louis County in northeastern Minnesota...
  Northwestern Lake County in northeastern Minnesota...

* Until 545 PM CDT

* At 459 PM CDT, a large severe thunderstorm was located from 8
  miles east of Buyck, into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, or 16
  miles north of Lake Vermilion, moving east at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Buyck, Basswood Lake, Echo Lake, Lake Agnes, Crooked Lake, Loon
  Lake, Lac la Croix, and Trout Lake. This includes roughly the
  western half of the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. Get off area lakes and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
 Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a
thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Many portages and low lying drainage channels in the
Boundary Water could be flooded with rapidly moving water, do not
attempt to cross them!
