...LAKE EFFECT SNOW PERSISTING OVER NORTHWEST WISCONSIN THROUGH
WEDNESDAY...

.THE SNOWBELT AREAS OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE
OF LAKE SUPERIOR CAN EXPECT PERIODS OF ACCUMULATING SNOW TONIGHT
AND WEDNESDAY. SNOW WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY TONIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY MORNING AS LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS BECOME MORE
NUMEROUS. THE GREATEST SNOWFALL TOTALS ARE FORECAST OVER THE
GOGEBIC RANGE OF FAR EASTERN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES...WHERE 7
TO 11 INCHES ARE FORECAST BY LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. LESSER
AMOUNTS FROM ROUGHLY 4 TO 7 INCHES... ARE EXPECTED OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN OF THE BAYFIELD PENINSULA. LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO

WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW.... WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST
WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATION...IRON AND ASHLAND COUNTIES.

* TIMING...TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...MAXIMUM AMOUNTS FROM 7 TO 11 INCHES
  ACROSS THE GOGEBIC RANGE OF EASTERN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES.
  LESSER AMOUNTS FROM 3 TO 7 INCHES ELSEWHERE.

* WINDS...NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH.

* WIND GUSTS...UP TO 25 MPH.

* VISIBILITY...AS LOW AS A HALF MILE AT TIMES IN OPEN AREAS.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL LIKELY REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY...
  WITH IMPACTS TO TRAVEL PERSISTING. OPEN AREAS ALONG U.S.
  HIGHWAY 2 WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT TO LOWER VISIBILITY IN BLOWING
  AND DRIFTING SNOW.
