.A VERY COLD AIR MASS WILL MOVE IN FROM THE NORTH MONDAY AND
TUESDAY...AND COMBINE WITH A LONG NORTHWESTERLY FETCH ACROSS
WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR TO PRODUCE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR
ACCUMULATING LAKE EFFECT SNOW ALONG THE SNOWBELT REGIONS OF
ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES.

* LOCATION...NORTHERN SECTIONS OF ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES...
  INCLUDING MELLEN...HURLEY...UPSON AND GURNEY.

* TIMING...MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...GREATER THAN 6 INCHES IN NORTHERN ASHLAND
  COUNTY...AND GREATER THAN 9 INCHES IN NORTHERN IRON COUNTY.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...VISIBILITIES COULD BE REDUCED TO A HALF MILE
  OR LESS IN THE HEAVY SNOW BANDS. NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH
  NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR MAY ALSO PRODUCE SOME REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN
  BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS COULD DETERIORATE VERY QUICKLY
  MONDAY AFTERNOON AND MONDAY NIGHT...ALONG STATE HIGHWAYS 13
  AND 77...AND ACROSS U.S. HIGHWAY 2.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR A LARGE
AMOUNT OF SNOW IN ONLY A FEW HOURS. VISIBILITIES AND DEPTH OF
SNOW CAN VARY GREATLY...IMPACTING TRAVEL SIGNIFICANTLY. CONTINUE
