...LOCALLY HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...

.SIGNIFICANT SNOW AMOUNTS FROM LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS IS
EXPECTED THROUGH THE REST OF THE WORK WEEK. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO
BEGIN THIS EVENING WITH THE MOST INTENSE SNOW FALLING OVERNIGHT
INTO THURSDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL COME DOWN HARD AT TIMES...
ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE BAYFIELD PENINSULA AND
ALONG THE GOGEBIC RANGE OF IRON COUNTY. MOST OF THE SNOW WILL
FALL TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING...BUT INTERMITTENT SNOW
SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE WELL INTO FRIDAY.

* LOCATIONS...HIGHEST SNOW TOTALS WILL BE ALONG THE GOGEBIC
  RANGE OF NORTHERN IRON COUNTY.

* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW TONIGHT...WITH THE MOST INTENSE SNOWFALL
  RATES LATE TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING. LIGHT SNOW THEN
  LINGERS THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES...LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
  ALONG THE GOGEBIC RANGE.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...THE HEAVY SNOW WILL MAKE MANY ROADS IMPASSABLE AND
  MAY PRODUCE POWER OUTAGES DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE SNOW ON
  TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE-
EFFECT SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE. LAKE-EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES
IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP 1 TO SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW PER HOUR FOR SEVERAL HOURS. VISIBILITIES VARY
GREATLY AND CAN DROP TO ZERO WITHIN MINUTES.  TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE COULD BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU MUST
TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR
VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
